Statement re Agreement with Rebest-Naturol Group
Further to the announcements by Eden Research plc on 31st May 2005 and 4th July 2005 regarding the potential acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Rebest-Naturol Group, Eden can confirm that, having considered the proposals more fully, it has decided that it will not proceed with the acquisition of Rebest-Naturol Group. The directors believe that there are better opportunities for the Eden business by developing the core business through the Company's current partnership strategy. Eden will continue to consider value-enhancing acquisitions for the business and in the meantime will maintain the Company's focus on its core terpene technology products offering. Eden however still intends to dispose of its current portfolio of pharmaceautical and medical patents repositioning itself as a 'natural products' company.
