Eden Research Plc Appoints New Adviser, New Finance Director and Grants Options.

  • David Collins appointed as Finance Director
  • John East & Partners appointed as Nominated Adviser for the purposes of the Company’s proposed move to AIM

Eden Research plc, the agrochemical and pharmaceutical company, has appointed David Collins as Finance Director. The Company has also appointed John East & Partners Limited as its new Nominated Adviser for its intended Admission to the London Stock Exchanges Alternative Investment Market (‘AIM’)

Mr Collins, 48, a qualified chartered accountant, has recently been acting as part-time Finance Director at menswear retailer Gieves & Hawkes plc where he was responsible for implementing a number of accounting and administration changes. A graduate of Keble College, Oxford, Mr Collins has also held senior positions at Blackwells, the academic book group, ladies wear chain LK Bennett Ltd, and fashion manufacturer Aquascutum plc.

Chief Executive Tim Griffiths said: “I am delighted that David has agreed to join us as I believe that his skills in key business disciplines will benefit us enormously. Now that we have a number of projects close to commercialisation, his significant expertise at executive level and hands on experience will help us to accelerate forward.”

Director Ken Brooks is exercising 50,000 options at 13.5p, effective from the date of announcement, which takes his shareholding to 476,065.

The total number of shares held by directors is now 577,265 which represent 1.33% of the shares currently in issue.

In addition, Directors Ken Brooks, Tony Baldry, Tim Griffiths and Craig Herron are being allocated 15,000 share options each with an exercise price of 54.5p from the date of the announcement.

Mr W F Widger is resigning as Non-Executive Director with effect from the date of announcement to pursue other interests.

The Company recently received positive preliminary results from field trials for its natural soil fumigation product, which have shown up to a 98% success rate in the eradication of nematodes (plant parasitic worms). It also signed a joint venture agreement with Soyad Brothers Textile Corporation for the supply of anti-microbial compounds for the effective treatment of fibres used in textiles.
