Granting of patent

Eden Research plc, a leading UK agrochemical development company, is pleased to announce it has been granted a patent covering the use of terpenes in treating plant diseases. This is a further milestone in Eden's continuing drive to secure a proprietary position in relation to developing novel plant treatments.

South African patent number ZA2004/2367 is the first in a family of applications to be granted. Corresponding applications are proceeding in Europe, the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico and Brazil.

In this case, the patent will apply to treatments with particular significance to the wine industry, but will also have more universal applications in the future.
