Eden Research plc, a leading UK agrochemical development company, is pleased to announce it has been granted a new patent covering the use of terpenes in treating plant diseases. This is a further key milestone in Eden's continuing drive to secure a proprietary position in the development of novel plant treatments.
Mexican patent number MXPA/A/2004/001906 is the fifth in a series of applications to be granted. Earlier this year, patents for New Zealand and Australia were granted to Eden. Corresponding applications are proceeding in Europe, the United States and Brazil.
These patents will apply to treatments with particular significance to high value crops like grapevines, but will also have broad applications in other areas.
Tim Griffiths, Chief Executive, Eden Research plc said:
"This patent is significant for Eden and takes us another step forward on delivering our commercialisation plan. Plant diseases is an important patent for us and its granting has positive impact on other applications we are developing in process."
