Eden Research plc (AIM: EDEN), the AIM listed natural micro-encapsulation company, held its Annual General Meeting today at mid-day at The Four Pillars Hotel, Ducklington Lane, Witney OX28 4EX.

Following the formal proceedings of the meeting, at which all resolutions were duly passed, the Chairman, Tom Lupton, made the following statement:

"In the recently published 2013 Eden Report and Accounts, I gave shareholders a detailed update of the Company's development and trading position. I do not propose to repeat this at great length, however I would like to highlight certain key points which I feel, show that Eden is developing into a commercially successful business.

3AEY

"EU approval for the active substances in our first plant protection product, the terpene based fungicide 3AEY, was granted in May 2013 and we expect to complete the EU regulatory process this year. This means that we are less than a year away from 'off the shelf' products being approved. This will allow sales of 3AEY to begin through our licensing partners and, we hope, will provide sustained long term revenues.

Encapsulation

"Eden has branded its unique, natural encapsulation technology as GO-E Inside™, which will enable us to build brand recognition and form a basis for all future products developed by Eden and its partners. The first sales of products using GO-E Inside™ have been made by our licensee, TerpeneTech Limited. This is clearly a significant milestone and will result in royalties being paid to Eden.

Outlook

"The short-term picture is that of increasing revenues and deal flow. The Board plans to reorganise the business to maximise the value of our intellectual property portfolio. This will give Eden a clearer focus and allow us to strengthen the management team to address the challenges faced in the wide range of sectors where our encapsulation technology may be utilised.

"From what I have said to you here, as well as in the Chairman's Report, you will hopefully see that there is a lot happening at Eden. Our aim is to make Eden a leader in natural encapsulation technologies and for GO-E Inside™ to become a globally recognised brand. I believe that we now have a very firm foundation upon which to achieve this."

Eden Research plc (AIM: EDEN), the AIM listed natural micro-encapsulation company, announces that the Mexican Industrial Property Institute (IMPI) has issued a Notice of Allowance for its patent regarding the treatment of mites.

The patent covers the Company's core technology, specifically "a method of killing mites, said method comprising the step of administering to said mites in an effective dose a composition comprising a hollow glucan or cell wall particle encapsulating a terpene component wherein the terpene component comprises citral alone or a combination of eugenol, thymol and citral."

Eden Research plc (AIM: EDEN), the AIM listed natural micro-encapsulation company, announces that the Canadian Intellectual Property Office has issued a Notice of Allowance for its platform encapsulation technology.

The patent covers the Company's core technology, specifically "compositions containing a hollow glucan particle or a cell wall particle encapsulating a terpene component, methods of making and using them."

The patent is owned outright by Eden and is already granted in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, China, Mexico, Singapore, the Philippines, South Africa and across a number of designated African states covered by the African Regional Intellectual Property Organisation (ARIPO). Formal patent grant will provide the security of full patent protection to existing and prospective licensees in Canada.

Eden Research plc (AIM: EDEN), the AIM listed natural micro-encapsulation company, announces that its licensee, TerpeneTech Ltd (“TerpeneTech”), has launched two pet odour neutralising products for companion animals in France. Both products utilise Eden’s encapsulation technology and this marks the first ever commercial launch of products using Eden’s intellectual property and expertise in encapsulation.

The two products, YP Odor Control Formula and YP Odor Control Seborrhea, were formulated and produced by TerpeneTech, Ltd and will initially be distributed in France by Laboratoires Agecom under its E Lotion brand, then moving on to other territories around the world. Both products are natural products that neutralize bad odours on dogs and cats.

TerpeneTech has a licence agreement with Eden for the use of Eden’s patented encapsulation technology in consumer and agricultural related biocides. Under the agreement Eden will receive royalty income on the net sales of the product on an ongoing basis.

The two products take advantage of the natural defense mechanisms of plants, in the form of terpenes, and join them with Eden’s encapsulation system enabling these active substances to be delivered in a controlled manner, over a period of time. Using Eden’s technology the active ingredients in these products are released when they are needed from natural particles in contact with moisture, in these cases application can last for up to 18 days compared to the much shorter duration of effect from competitor products. They also have the advantage of soothing and helping to heal irritated skin, as well as improving the lustre and appearance of the animal’s coat.

TerpeneTech is also developing other effective, proprietary natural Biocide consumer products for ant and cockroach baits, mosquito repellent, dust mites, and environmental sprays.

Eden Research plc (AIM: EDEN), the AIM listed natural micro-encapsulation company, announces that it has received confirmation of the Completeness-Check for dossiers submitted to its Zonal Rapporteur Member State, in relation to gaining product approval for plant protection products using the Company's three EU approved active substances.

In May 2013 Eden received approval from the European Commission for the use of the three active substances in its lead agrichemical product 3AEY. 3AEY is an effective, naturally derived product against Botrytis, a widespread fungal disease that causes grey mould on most fruits and vegetables often leading to the rapid loss of commercially viable crops. The average losses from affected crops account for around 20% of the total harvest, costing in the region of 10-100 billion euros worldwide. The market size for Botryticides is around $300m per annum.

The May approval was a key regulatory milestone and allowed the Company to seek separate national approvals for individual products as a precursor to commercial sales. As part of this process Eden had submitted dossiers to its Zonal Rapporteur Member State, in this case Malta, and has now received confirmation that these dossiers are considered complete.

A Rapporteur Member State is an individual Member State of the EU with responsibility for the evaluation of application dossiers on behalf of the European Commission. This process allows products to gain regulatory approval across various Member States through submission to one Member State. Eden's submission, when successful, is expected to gain approval in France, Spain, Italy, Greece and Bulgaria.

Eden Research plc (AIM: EDEN), the AIM listed natural micro-encapsulation company, announces that it has granted access to its EU regulatory data and dossiers to Desarrollo Agricola y Minero S.A. ("Daymsa") of Zaragoza, Spain.

In 2013, Eden received approval for three active substances under the European Union Regulation ("EC") No. 1107/2009 concerning the Placing of Plant Protection Products on the Market. This data, which was generated by Eden to register its own plant protection product 3AEY, is also of value to third parties as a basis to register their own products using one or more of the same active substances.

Daymsa already uses similar natural ingredients in its existing product portfolio and shall now register new products using the data for the active substances registered by Eden.
