Eden received approval for sale of Mevalone in France in January this year following extensive consideration by the French Authorities and Regulatory Agencies.

Eden Research plc (AIM: EDEN), the AIM-listed company that provides breakthrough natural bio-control products and microencapsulation technologies to the global agrochemicals, animal health and consumer products industries, announces that is has received a Supplementary Protection Certificate from the Patent Office in Greece for its 3AEY plant protection product.

A Supplementary Protection Certificate extends the duration of a patent in relation to a specific product. In Eden's case, this means a five-year extension to the patent protection for Eden's fungicide product, 3AEY, which has now been extended in Greece until May 2030. 3AEY is protected under Patent No. 3082101, entitled: "Compositions containing a hollow glucan particle or a cell wall particle encapsulating a terpene component, methods of making and using them."

Eden supplies 3AEY to its partner in Greece, K&N Efthymiadis, who then distributes the product (marketed as 'Mevalone') to its customers.  3AEY is also marketed in Italy as '3logy', in Spain as 'ARAW', in Kenya as 'Hawk' and will be sold in France from this year as 'Mevalone'.

Eden Research plc (AIM: EDEN), the AIM-listed company that provides breakthrough natural bio-control products and microencapsulation technologies to the global agrochemicals, animal health and consumer products industries, is today confirming its current total voting rights and number of  options and warrants outstanding.

The Company's total issued and voting share capital comprises 184,654,119 ordinary shares of 1 pence each ("Ordinary Shares"). No shares were held in treasury at the date of this announcement. The total number of current voting rights in the Company is therefore 184,654,119.

The above figure (184,654,119 Ordinary Shares) is the figure which may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculation by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company.

The Company also confirms that the current number of outstanding warrants over Ordinary Shares ("Warrants") is currently 5,497,867, which is unchanged from the number of Warrants in issue announced by the Company on 27 September 2016. This number includes 2,000,000 Warrants with an exercise price of 11 pence which were issued to Oxford Capital Limited. These Warrants were issued in December 2014 in connection with the 20,865,382 new Ordinary Shares issued, as announced by the Company on 28 November 2014, for settlement of all outstanding debt.

In addition, the Company confirms that the current number of outstanding options over Ordinary Shares is currently 5,025,000.

Eden Research now has approval for Mevalone (3AEY) in Albania for the treatment of botrytis on grapes and greenhouse aubergines, kiwis, pomegranates and fresh onions

Environmentally friendly product to combat botrytis (grape rot) 
in one of the world’s largest wine producing nations

Eden Research plc (AIM: EDEN), the AIM-listed company that provides breakthrough natural bio-control products and microencapsulation technologies to the global agrochemicals, animal health and consumer products industries, announces that is has received authorisation in France for its first product, 3AEY, for use in the prevention and treatment of botrytis in table and wine grapes. 3AEY will be sold in France by Eden partner SumiAgro France under the brand name "Mevalone™".

This is a significant and long-awaited milestone for the Company and will allow SumiAgro France to sell Mevalone to its established customers. Mevalone is a terpene-based fungicide that can prevent and treat botrytis, a widespread fungal disease that causes grey mould on many fruits and vegetables leading to the rapid loss of commercially valuable crops. The average losses from affected crops account for around 20% of the total harvest, costing producers between €10-100 billion annually worldwide, depending upon weather conditions. The market for Botryticides alone is more than $350 million per annum.

The unique characteristics that Mevalone has in terms of its safety and environmental profile, efficacy and exemption from Maximum Residue Limits make it an interesting and useful product for growers. This is particularly relevant in the late stages of the growing season when botrytis can be prevalent and where many alternative products cannot be used due to residue issues, leaving growers with few options in the last few weeks before harvest due to the long pre-harvest intervals associated with many competing fungicides. Mevalone is also an extremely useful tool in managing the resistance of pests to many common conventional fungicides."
